TANTRA, WHAT IT MEANS AND WHAT IS THE TANTRIC MASSAGE

Wikipedia: Tantra is a Sanskrit term (in devanāgarī , तन्त्र: "loom", "warp" [1] ; but also translated as "principle", "essence", "system", "doctrine", "technique" [2 ] ) to indicate both a set of texts [3] with a non-univocal classification, and a controversial set of spiritual teachings and esoteric traditions originating in Indian religious cultures with Hindu , Buddhist , Jain and Bönpo variants , with branches widespread in Tibet , China , Korea , Japan , Indonesia and many other areas of the Far East [4] .

Etymologically, the term "tantra" is linked to the verbal root TAN, a verb that means "to stretch", with reference to what is done in the processing of fabrics. The term is therefore generally translated with "loom", "warp" [31] , and therefore in a broad sense, "work", "text" [32] . In the literature there are other translations of the term, which tend more or less to give an interpretative key to the term itself and to the context. Osho Rajneesh , modern exponent of Tantra, has rendered the term with "technique", "method" [33] :

«The word" tantra "means technique, the method, the path, therefore it is not philosophical: remember that. It does not deal with intellectual problems and investigations. It does not deal with the "why" of things: it deals with the "how", not with what truth is but with how it can be reached. "

(Osho, The book of secrets, translation by Tea Pecunia Bassani and Swami Anand Videha, Bompiani, 2008, p. 15)

In the West, early European orientalists saw Tantra as a subversive, antisocial, licentious and immoral force guilty of the corruption of classical Hinduism; many today see it instead as a celebration of social equality, sexuality, feminism and body culture [130] , to the point that a Western variant ( Neotantra ) has been formed, albeit criticized by Eastern Tantrists.

THE TANTRIC MASSAGE AND THE LINGAM-YONI-TANTRA

The Tantric massage is a treatment that allows the individual to be able to come into deep contact with his own vital energy, rediscover it and let it express freely, thanks also to the cleaning and activation of the energy channels.
The massage is a soft and enveloping touch, without execution patterns that makes you slide gently into a dimension of "no mind", in the dimension of "feeling", of listening to you and your energy. Leaving yourself confidently in the welcoming hands of those who love to work with energy with professionalism, your essence can find its natural expression and vibrating through the body, following the opening of the heart, it will make you feel a sense of unity with all this. that surrounds you.

It is an intimate and sensual experience, a magic that unites body, sensuality and heart and in which you are invited to listen inside yourself, to your sensations and to perceive the movement of your energy, in the body. Each meeting takes place and is lived in a different way, following what emerges in the present moment, based on the energy of the person. First there will be a meditation to gently bring you to relax and enter another dimension, the one in which your essence vibrates. In this dimension begins an aromatherapy sequence and then the actual massage: there will be light and delicate touches aimed at awakening every energy point of the body, including candles, incense and perfumes.

For the massage we use hot oils flavored with specific essential oils to act both on a physical and etheric level, leading you to detach your mind and get more and more in contact with your energy. It is a moment of great energetic and emotional exchange.

LINGAM AND YONI

A very popular legend in India tells that one day the God Shiva accidentally met a group of scholars who did not recognize his greatness. Then he turned into a naked and filthy ascetic and seduced their wives.

Furious the sages captured him and castrated him, but the moment his member touches the ground the light disappears from the universe. At that point the wise men realized they were wrong and begged God to restore light to the world. Shiva agreed, but on the condition that from that moment on they worshiped him in the form of Lingam (literally: sign): a phallus that always remains erect because it is swollen with power.

The cult of the Lingam is still today one of the most widespread in the Shivaite current. In the shrines of temples dedicated to Shiva, the Lingam is carved inside a cubic altar surmounted by a female emblem: the Yoni (literally: vagina) which serves as a container and drain for water.

The altar therefore symbolizes the world born from the union of the two opposite principles embodied by Shiva and Parvati: the Lingam, source of life and intellect, the Yoni symbol of cosmic energy.
